Being the Bag Lady
February 19, 2008 at 9:45 pm | In Bags, Crochet, Etsy, Knitting, Shopping | 1 CommentWhat is our attraction to owning bags? The women I know have piles upon piles of bags, most of which they probably don’t use. I, personally, am intrigued by bags. They display how I feel about myself for the day, and at the same time are very useful. I put my life for the day in whichever bag I carry - and all of my bags serve a purpose.
This weekend my parents came to visit me and I sent all of my old bags home. I’m starting a new collection. I plan on becoming the bag lady. So far, I have one handmade bag, two bags from etsy sellers, and a bag from my aunt’s boutique. Do you sell any bags? If so, let me know. Without any further adieu, I present to you my bags!
This has been my favorite bag a while now. I made it sometime during the beginning of 2007. It is the “Weekend Market Bag” from Weekend Knitting. It was my first knitted bag and my first felting project. Once I casted off, I noticed that I had dropped a stitch..and of course it was too late to go back and fix it. I ended up taking a spare piece of wool and tying the stitch to the inside of the bag so that it wouldn’t drop any further. There is an odd line where the stitch dropped, but I still receieve complements everytime I wear the bag. People are in awe that I actually knitted it. I have dubbed it the “I feel like being free today and not carrying a bookbag” bag.
Next up is this beauty, the “my boyfriend loves me so much he bought me this $64 bag” bag. I found this bag on Bandamy’s etsy store and immediately marked it as a favorite. I was in desperate need of a new brown purse and this one just screamed me. Each day I
would check to make sure that no one bought it and casually remind my boyfriend that Valentine’s day is coming up and I would love that purse. One day, the purse was sold. It just so happened my boyfriend signed up for paypal that day. Of course he bought me the bag!
The last pictures I have to offer of my 2nd etsy bag and it’s carrying case from VeronicaClaire. I just got it in the mail today and have already dubbed it the “I want to carry alot of yarn to my boyfriends room, but don’t want to carry my weekend bag as I am not staying over there” bag. I haven’t used it but have had it rolled up in the brown damask bag all day long. Isn’t it beautiful?
It even came with a cute little carrying case.
The last bag, which didn’t turn out well in pictures, is a brown weekend bag. I found it in my aunt’s boutique over Christmas break and couldn’t decide whether I wanted it or not. One day, I went back to show my boyfriend and the bag was gone! Turns out, my mom had my aunt put it on hold in case I decided I really wanted it. I kind of knew because my mom kept asking questions like “Would you like it if someone got you that bag for Christmas.” I went back and bought it a few days before I left for school. It’s my “Going home for the night” bag.
I hope you enjoyed your peak into my collection. I would love to see yours sometime. Remember, if you’re selling bags let me know! I am always looking to add more to my collection!
Happy Knitting,

They make great gifts for a hostess or for the guests. For $5, you will recieve five clothespins, magnets, and sticky tape!

Here’s some exciting news for all of you that crochet! The stitch markers in my store can now be customized for crochet! All you have to do is send a message to seller stating that you would like the markers for crochet instead of knitting!
