“NAME THAT COLORWAY” RULES:
1. First, come up with the perfect colorway name. Jokesters might gain extra merit, as long as it’s to good humor. Post on THIS post’s comment page ONLY!! Thanks. ![]()
2. Post these rules on your blog & your colorway idea. That way, no one will use something like it, by mere freak accident. Who ever finds out about this contest on your blog must refer you on this comment page below, before participating in the contest. (This is kind of like Lotus’ Knits contest idea. But we will use a poll too…)
–>If you see your name (or blog address) on my comment page below, you can add another colorway name idea! The more referals for you, the better! Good luck to you all!
3. The top 3 best names will be put on a poll, so you all can vote!
4. Contest ends: Sunday, July 29th @ midnight!
I picked “Evening Storm”, “Dusk,” and “Light Show.”
Back in Town.
July 25, 2007 at 4:59 pm | In Bags, Beach, Crafts, Crochet, Family, Knitting, Life, Love, Projects, Shopping, Vacation, Walk, Websites, Wilmington, Yarn, Yarn Stores | 2 CommentsHello everyone! I am finally home from te beach; and I finally have my computer. I feel like I have so much to share, so I hope my fingers can keep up.
First off, I have some lovely finds from the beach. I bought 3 new shirts. The giraffe shirt is from Target. The other two are from a store called Planet in Downtown Wilmington, NC. The last one says “She carried herself with an uncommon grace.”

My other finds were these cute little monkeys and a heart from City Buddah and a necklace from Southport. Together they cost only $10. I especially love the monkeys. They were sitting apart on the bench, so I scooted them together. All of a sudden, a rush of nothing but good feelings surged through my body. I just had to buy them. Now, whenever I move them together, I smile and my mood is instantly lightened.

I also bought some yarn! The first yarn store I visited was Angelwing Needleart in Southport. I bought this Lifestyle yarn there. Does anyone have any good pattern ideas? I thought about a pair of socks, but I’m unsure about that because they would be anklets. Any ideas are appreciated. I also went to Yarns of Wilmington, but I didn’t really like that store. My last stop was The Quarter Stitch. I loved that store. It was nicely organized and it just felt like home. There were a few ladies knitting on the couch and just chatting away. It was great to be in there. The owner also had a whole shelf full of yarn that was 50% off. I bought Berroco Suede so I could make the Knitting Tote I’ve had my eye on. I’m excited.

My yarn purchases haven’t stopped there. I took three projects to the beach to work on. Instead of starting/finishing those, I went to A.C. Moore and bought some Sugar n’ Cream to
make a beach bag. It is almost done so I hope to have the picture up soon. I have also been buying more of Lion Brand’s Vanna Choice to make the Larger than Life Bag from Interweave Crochet.
Well, besides all of that shopping (in downtown Wilmington
and Southport) and crocheting, I did manage to find some time to spend out on the beach and at the pool. I ended up with a mild sunburn. My boyfriend and I spent a nice evening together that involved eating dinner at Paddy’s Hollow and walking along the water downtown. A few days later we went paddle boating on an Alligator lake. Luckily, we didn’t see any alligators. I hated seeing the vacation in. I enjoyed the stress-free, no work week.
That’s all I have to share in this post. Keep checking back, I will have pictures of my dyed yarn next! I definitely am glad I’m back to continue sharing my work with you!
Happy Knitting,
Kate
PS: Isn’t this a cool cloud. I think it looks like Poseidon blowing away a monster.

I’m so excited

I have bought a few things, but I need to wait until I get back to my computer (Monday night) in order to edit the pictures; they are very large. I also have a few beach pictures and some tales. I haven’t finished any projects up here. I actually cheated a bit. I brought up 4 projects to work on (I am only here for a week), but I ended up buying more yarn to make a beach bag..which is almost halfway done. I am going to run out of yarn to continue my made up (by my boyfriend) color sequence, so it will have to be edited a bit because I am not buying anymore. I’m not, I’m not, I’m not. Maybe? Well, I miss you all. I can’t wait to share my findings with you.
Keep on Knitting,
Kate
